Cincinnati, Ohio’s reggae, rock and jamband music scene were represented well on the biggest bar night of the year. Stanley’s Pub played host to two of the hottest up-and-coming acts in the city in Elementree Livity Project and Peridoni.
Reggae-rock-jamband Elementree Livity Project kicked off the Thanksgiving Eve party with a great set of guitar-driven reggae-rock. Livity Project was performing without their usual keyboards and saxophone highlights due to an illness, which left the band without Stephen Buttree. Despite this setback, the band carries forward with a lot of the credit due to Bean Bastin filling out the sound more with his lead guitar riffs.
A highlight from the show came when Cory Donnini of Peridoni joined Elementree Livity Project on stage during a wonderful cover of “Scarlet Begonias/Fire on the Mountain.” Donnini and Bastin traded licks in the guitar solo, which included a little “Meatstick” tease by Donnini. This jam tune lead perfectly into jamband Peridoni’s late-night set. Peridoni – made up of Donnini on lead guitar, Kaleb Perrin on vocals and rhythm guitar, Jeremy Smith on bass guitar, Kevin Harris on keys, and Ben Steinkamp holding down the drums.
Peridoni’s spacejam-rock had the floor literally moving with people bouncing and dancing. The turnout for Peridoni was amazing as there was a content stream of people coming in the door all night.
If you enjoy progressive rock or jamband music, Peridoni is a must-see. MORE IMAGES FROM THE SHOW HERE.
